MARTHALL will be hosting its third annual beer festival next weekend, with a range of activities on offer for visitors.

Taking place at Marthall Village Hall, the festival will start at 2pm on Saturday, June 6 with a barbecue, bouncy castle, face painting and rodeo ride.

At 4.30pm a six-a-side tug of war will take place before the live music - and another barbecue - takes guess through to the end.

On Sunday, the festival opens at 12pm and there will be a barbecue until the event closes at 5pm.

Neil Hanlon, from the festival, said: "We are partnering with the 1st Chelford Scouts to run the BBQ and they will share the profit from food sales with the hall.

"Once again, all profit we make from the festival goes to the hall for maintenance and improvements. In the last year, we've been able to buy a new cooker, a new fence and have the hall painted - partly funded by last year's event.

"For music, we have two live acts - Sara and Chris Dawson are playing in the early evening and Buzzard are playing the late evening slot.

"We also have great sponsorship again from local companies including Warburton Landscapes, Wright & Morten vets, Irlam's Estate Agents, Chelford Mobile Services, Pump Supplies and Stobart Biomass.

"Beers are from local breweries including Tatton, Mobberley Fine Ales, Bear Town, Red Willow and Off Beat."

More than 10 plus craft beers, along with cider, perry and lagers, will all be on offer with prices at £2.50 per pint.

There will be a raffle and free tasting notes will be available for guests. There will be also soft drinks and wine.

Entry is £5 and includes a glass and the first pint free.

Entrance for children under 18 is £2.
