A KNUTSFORD strongman took on Europe’s biggest obstacle race for the third time this weekend – tackling 13-miles and 17 gruelling obstacles to secure an impressive sub four-hour finish at the Fisherman’s Friend StrongmanRun in Germany.
Business owner and fitness expert, Ross Edgley, 29, raced to the finish line in 3 hours and 22 minutes as part of an elite five-strong ‘Team Britain’.
The day saw racers from across Europe battle it out across 13-miles of brutal hills, ice-cold water and towering walls of steel at the famed Nürburgring circuit in Nürburg, Germany, as thousands of spectators looked on.
A delighted Ross said: “I’m chuffed with the result. This was my third attempt at tackling the Fisherman’s Friend StrongmanRun, and it’s my best performance yet – despite the course been the toughest to date. My least favourite obstacle had to be the electric shock crawl, which is about as much fun as it sounds! Overall, the event was a fantastic one as always, and it’s been a privilege to represent the UK alongside so many elite contenders”.
Ross joined four other members of an elite “Team Britain” to take part in the race – the biggest and toughest of the European-wide series – on Saturday, May 9.
