A HOLMES Chapel mum who traded in a high-flying career in finance for a life of erotic fiction has been dubbed ‘Cheshire’s own E.L. James’.

Mollie Blake has gone from finance director to erotic fiction writer, drawing on the Cheshire set to inspire her characters’ millionaire lifestyles and taste.

Mollie made finance director at the age of 34 and became a mum at the age of 42. Seeing the company through a take-over gave her the financial security to leave work and become a full-time mum, before embarking on the next phase of her life as an author.

Inspired by Fifty Shades of Grey, Mollie wrote her first book ‘Keeping You’, an erotic thriller. ‘Keeping You’ traces the increasingly intense and tender relationship between an experienced young woman and her wealthy lover, troubled by a past that haunts him and a life-threatening desire for revenge.

Her second book is based in an imaginary village near Knutsford. ‘The Secret of Arnford Hall’ deals with the dark past of a domineering millionaire and the schoolteacher at his mercy.

Mollie said: “I have had great fun writing erotic romance with a taste of danger, including experimenting and the research needed to produce a book that readers will enjoy. Living in Cheshire, you can’t help but be inspired by the wealth and glamour of the ‘golden triangle’, which was a big help when it came to research.

“Writing has made me excited about the next phase in my life, not to mention my husband too.”

Mollie’s third book will be published later this year.
