TATTON MP George Osborne popped by Knutsford’s new Tesla store last week to welcome the company to his constituency and to meet its customers.
On Friday, Mr Osborne met with George Ell, Tesla’s UK director, to learn more about the luxury electric car business.
He also did the honours of handing over the keys to the store’s first customer, Stephen Taylor, from Alderley Edge.
Mr Osborne said: “I am delighted to welcome yet another world-class company to our town. Cheshire is a fantastic place to do business and it is great to see Tesla choosing Knutsford as its base in the north west. They are at the cutting edge of car technology and it was interesting to see it in operation.
“As a government, we've been very supportive of ultra-low emission vehicles. They can bring real benefits to our towns and cities by improving air quality and reducing carbon emissions, and it will provide energy security by reducing our reliance on foreign oil imports.”
