Members of Jodrell Side WI rounded off 2014 with the usual Christmas party where an excellent meal and entertainment was enjoyed by all.
Pat Hurdle was presented with the Judy Pownall shield in recognition of her constant support of the competitions held throughout the year. It was reported that several members had attended a very enjoyable carol service at St Luke’s Church, Holmes Chapel and that the rail group’s Christmas shopping trip to Liverpool in December had been successful.
Some members decided to start off the Christmas festivities with a trip to the pantomime to see “Peter Pan Goes Wrong” at the Lowry Theatre, which proved to be thoroughly hilarious. The walking group are looking forward to their “Christmas” lunch to be held in January.
As the annual Jodrell Side WI Jumble Sale is fast approaching, members would appreciate any contributions.
Happy New Year to all.
