KNUTSFORD’S mayor headed along to Tatton Park on Tuesday to support the upcoming Foodies Festival taking place this weekend.
Clr Neil Forbes joined Sue Hitchen, founder of the festival, to promote the daily chilli eating competition that is just a small part of the festival.
The festival takes place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will feature a cross section of different food cultures.
The event will also welcome an array of top chefs, including judge of BBC’s Great British Menu Glynn Purnell and BBC’s Great British Menu contestant and head chef at Manchester's Aumbry Mary Ellen McTague, head chef of Ryan Giggs' restaurant 'George's' Andrew Parker, as well as Malaysian chef Norman Musa of Ning and David Mooney of Knutsford’s Old Sessions House.
A vast Producers' Market with more than 150 local producers will be there plus a Chilli Food Market for those with a love for spicy foods.
