PRESIDENT Virginia Williamson welcomed members to the May meeting of Plumley WI.
Since the last meeting several members had attended the Group Spring Meeting held at Mobberley in April, and a theatre visit to see “Run for your Wife” at The Garrick. Both were very much enjoyed.
Future events were discussed, including a walk at Pickmere on May 15 and next month’s Diamond Anniversary Evening, which will be held on June 2.
Voting took place on this year’s resolution for organ transplant. Every member of the WI is called upon to make their wishes regarding organ donation known, and to encourage their families, friends and members of their local communities to do likewise.
The resolution was carried, and it was interesting to learn during the discussion that one donor can transform the lives of up to nine people.
After voting took place it was time for entertainment in the form of bingo, followed by a quiz. Sylvia McKellar won this month’s competition, and the winner of the Bloom competition was June Wharf with Christine England as runner-up.
Next month’s meeting is on Monday, June 2, new members and visitors are welcome.
