KNUTSFORD Rural Watch is warning farmers to be on the lookout after an electric fence was stolen from farmland near the A556.
Jane Thirsk, Watch Officer, said: “The cost of replacing this unit is approximately £200 but the aggravation of such an item being stolen far out ways it’s monitory value.
“It could be possible that poachers might have taken this unit in order to let their dogs run free on the agricultural land.
“May I remind you that patrols are still out through the night around Knutsford and we will continue to check people once stopped.”
Anyone who has seen any suspicious activity in the area contact the police on 101.
