THE founder of a new Holmes Chapel networking group is encouraging women to make 2014 their ‘get up and go’ for it year.

Lily Newman, the brainchild behind ‘When Your Get Up and Go Has Got Up and Gone’ Motivational Masterclasses, will be launching ‘Tuesday Club’ at Cranage Hall on January 28.

The club’s aim is to promote emotional, psychological and physical well-being and to encourage members to overcome their ‘life limiting scripts’ through a series of challenges throughout the year.

Lily, a leadership coach and communications consultant from Whitegate, said: “Tuesday Club people have a zest for life and set themselves new challenges every year.

“They don’t wait until their pensionable years to work through their bucket list, their bucket list is a part of their annual action plan – an opportunity to do something different, whether it be creative or a physical challenge, a ‘feel the fear and do it anyway opportunity’ to try something new.”

Tuesday Club was first established as a ‘metaphorical’ club three years ago. Lily spoke of the idea whilst delivering her motivational masterclasses at the North West Women’s Enterprise event at Cranage Hall.

The idea struck a chord with attendees and some signed up to challenging themselves to do something different with their lives.

Members used Lily’s ‘get up and go’ techniques to get back their lives back on track and updated Lily on their progress via email.

The success of this ‘metaphorical’ club encouraged the 48-year-old to bring these like-minded women together so that they can share in their experiences.

“Our intention is that members use the events as an emotional MOT, and to help them to really live a life of purpose,” she added.

“Cranage Hall is fantastic because it has such a feeling of tranquillity and has the indoor and outdoor space to accommodate other more challenging events, some of which may be held outdoors.”

Some of the activities lined up for 2014 include belly dancing, public speaking, photography, make-up, poetry, meditation and stand-up comedy.
Tuesday Club is for women only and is open to all ages and abilities. There is no membership fee and members can choose which events to attend and pay per session.
