Poynton Theatre’s new production Straight and Narrow is a poke-in-your-face comedy by northern playwright Jimmie Chinn.

More Royle Family inspired than Keeping up Appearances this is a warm and moving exploration of not so well hidden secrets and deep personal and familial love.

Set in the 1980s, the cosy domesticity of Bob and Jeff's life is threatened by a personal crisis. But will Bob's family prove to be more of a hindrance than a help in resolving the situation? And will Bob be able to tell his seemingly intolerant mother that what she sees as the straight and narrow is not the life for her only son?

Poynton theatre seats over 100 people in the original 1930s auditorium and offers refreshments in the comfortable foyer and bar area.

This week’s production is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French Ltd and shows until Saturday, May 25.
