KING of the Waltz, André Rieu, will be sharing his Maastricht concerts with audiences all across the UK thanks to a link-up with cinemas.

The Dutch violinist and conductor’s Amore – My Tribute to Love will be screened in more than 500 cinemas, including Odeon Warrington, across the weekend of July 28 and 29.

The concert is described as a tribute to his love for music, his family and his Johann Strauss Orchestra, who he has performed with for more than 30 years.

It follows on from the release of his album, Amore, last year, which features his own versions of classic love songs from the worlds of pop and classical music.

The concerts that take place in André’s hometown of Maastricht in the Netherlands are set against the backdrop of the medieval town square, fans come annually from all corners of the world to watch André perform with his 60-piece orchestra and special guests.

Cinema audiences will also be treated to some special behind-the-scenes extras.

Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins hosts the concert presentation, interviewing fans and sharing the atmosphere that makes the shows special.

Last year, the annual concert grossed more than £1.45 million in one weekend, beating several Hollywood blockbusters.

André said: “To be able to bring the concert from my beautiful hometown of Maastricht direct to cinemas for my fans in the UK every year is such a thrill.

“My orchestra and I get so excited about our romantic open-air shows, it’s just magical to bring it to the big screen.”

Cinemagoers are also invited to dedicate one of André’s waltzes to a loved one and the conductor will personally announce the dedication, and the winner, to audiences across the UK.
