Vacancies For Members Of The Cheshire East Countryside Access Forum

Would you like to use your skills and experience to advise on improving people's access to the countryside, balancing social, land management, environmental and economic interests?
If so, you might like to apply for one of the vacancies on the Cheshire East Countryside Access Forum. The Forum is a statutory body that provides advice to Cheshire East Council, Natural England and other organisations. The Council is required to have regard in carrying out their functions to relevant advice issued by the Forum.
Membership of the Forum is voluntary, with members able to claim expenses. Meetings take place up to 4 times per year, at present online on a Thursday morning, subject to review. In appointing new members, the appointing authority, Cheshire East Council, must balance a range of interests, including recreational use and land management, as well as other aspects of countryside access, including the rural economy, nature conservation, health, transport, heritage and other matters. If appointed, you will have the satisfaction of influencing new developments in managing access across Cheshire East. You must be able to:
* initiate and contribute to debates on proposals for improved access;

* help develop imaginative solutions to access issues; and,
