I CANNOT understand those class-obsessed Knutsford residents, who write complaining about the new Aldi Store as downmarket – I presume they have never been in one. Aldi and Lidl are my favourite stores.I would never dream of accompanying my wife into Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, John Lewis, Hoopers etc, but eagerly initiate visits to Aldi and Lidl.

AFTER reading the lead article, (Guardian, May 15) "Raiders on the run after evading police helicopter", I cannot help but think what a waste of Cheshire Police’s resources it was scrambling a helicopter in these days of austerity.

I AM one of many commuters who travel to and from work on the A50 on a daily basis, and in doing so witness some appalling driving. Why drivers think they have the right to try overtaking 10 cars in one manoeuvre is beyond me, especially in a procession of numerous cars all moving at the national speed limit. This is a regular occurrence on many stretches of the A50. Your article (Guardian, May 8), says Barclays staff at Radbroke Hall have also voiced their concerns regarding the ‘bad’ junctions of Seven Sisters Lane and Middlewich Road.

IT IS regrettable that someone who had to sign themselves as a “Responsible Dog Owner” found it necessary to go to the time and trouble and expense to create laminated posters to remind dog owners of their responsibility to other members of the public and the environment regarding the toilet habits of their dogs. These posters were securely fixed to trees at various entrances to The Heath.

THE Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) held an engagement event in Knutsford recently for members of the public to hear how the NHS reforms will affect people locally, to pose questions about the NHS and to hear what the 2013/2014 priorities will be. On behalf of the CCG we would like to thank everyone who came along, as well as those who raised questions in advance for us to answer on the day.
