Prosecute the car boot fly posters

PEOPLE advertising car boots by putting notices on lampposts etc are contravening Section 132 of Section 1 of the Highways Act 1980.

This makes the perpetrators liable for up to £2,500 for each offence, ie each sign. If the borough council was serious about cleaning up the county from these signs, they would pay an officer overtime to confiscate and prosecute the car boot signs put up every Sunday.

They would even make a profit by doing so and discourage the car booters by taking their profit, thus making life much easier for those nearby who have to put up with the traffic and noise these events make.
