Let’s applaud the Toft Taverners

AS Knutsford mayor I had the pleasure of waving off four coaches of pensioners on July 4 for a trip to St Annes.
This had been organised by Toft Taverners, who raise the money for the event and accompany the group on the trip, which is free to the pensioners.
My husband and I met up with the organisers later in the day for a meal at the Legh Arms and to find out how the day had been.
Needless to say they had all had a wonderful time, the sun had come out for them and they had a very good lunch and afternoon tea at their usual hotel.
The people who organise this event and bring such pleasure to the elderly are to be applauded.
