ON August 9 the Knutsford Guardian published another letter from a reader who says those who voted leave knew exactly what they were voting for.

However, like other letter writers, he seems to have forgotten what the Conservative manifesto of 2015 promised.

They promised to negotiate reforms and then to have a referendum on whether we wanted the new reformed membership or to leave the EU.

If we left the EU it would be the way ‘the government thought was best’ so if that ends up being soft Brexit the ‘will of the people’ will be delivered, if that ends up being hard Brexit the ‘will of the people’ will be delivered.

If those who voted leave don’t like that then they should have abstained from the vote and campaigned for a referendum which included different options for Brexit.
