I CONCUR fully with the letter from Geoff Holman concerning Cheshire East Council published in last week’s edition of the Guardian.

The track record of Cheshire East Council over recent years has been pitiful.

I will not repeat the extensive list of problems that have arisen there.

There is no doubt that this council should be put into special measures immediately to sort it out once and for all.

Recently I think we have been experiencing a charm offensive from a number of councillors including the leader who, as Mr Holman says, are trying to convince residents that black is white.

The council, in my opinion, is not accountable to its stakeholders, in particular its taxpaying residents.

It is a self-congratulatory, selfperpetuating public sector bureaucracy that needs root and branch reorganisation.

The sooner the Government does something about it the better.
