RECENTLY the promised service enhancements to Chester to Manchester via Altrincham train services were postponed again, while a considerable number of morning peak services were cancelled in the first couple of weeks of the new timetable.
This didn’t escape the attention of the Weaver Vale MP, Altrincham & Sale MP, Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham or the media - we even had an ITV reporter at Knutsford station one day.
However, it seems to have escaped the attention of Tatton MP Esther McVey, who hasn’t, to my knowledge, said anything on the subject. If she can find time to campaign for a road through Lacey Green, Wilmslow to keep a bus service when there’s another bus route just 200 yards away, she can surely find time to take action against the poor level of public transport we have in Knutsford.
