IT has been brought to my attention that Royal Mail have introduced a new procedure – postmen have to physically put the mail through your letterbox They are not able to leave items such as small parcels that will not fit through your letterbox.
If they leave the item in your porch they deem it as trespass and the postman could be disciplined.
To get to my front door letterbox the postman has to enter my porch to deliver the post. This is madness.
Only yesterday a small package that was able to fit through my letterbox was damaged.
The impact this will have is that the faithful postie will be taking more items back to the sorting office than he is delivering.
The sorting office will be full of undelivered items The queues that are already unacceptable at the sorting office will increase while customers collect their undelivered items.
Utter irrational decision making by Royal Mail.
