AT some time after their acquisition of the former Knutsford War Memorial Hospital the British Red Cross pledged to protect the war memorial and accordingly they re-named the building they were occupying as Memorial House.

Surely this action undermines the arguments that the building and land are not a war memorial as by their action the British Red Cross acknowledged its main function as a war memorial, and if not as a war memorial, then as a memorial to what?

May be someone from the British Red Cross, possibly Dennis Dunn, president of the British Red Cross in Cheshire, could clarify the rationale behind their actions and justify why they proceeding to sell off a community asset which rightly belongs to the people of Knutsford.
