I MUST congratulate those involved with the speedy resurfacing of Tatton Street this week.
However, I am more than a little disappointed that the opportunity to deal with the chaotic parking problems on this street was not taken.
Just this morning I witnessed an impasse of two cars refusing to give way to each other in front of Laura Ashley.
After five minutes had passed and the town-bound traffic had started to build up (including a police car), a number of cars lost patience and started driving on the pavement in front of Laura Ashley to get past the obstruction.
The narrowing of the road due to parking is dangerous for cars, but even more so for pedestrians.
If parking is more important than pedestrian safety, why don’t they just get rid of the pavement?
