MOTORISTS who drink, take drugs or use their mobile phone while driving should be given an instant ban for five years or more. If drivers break the rules then they should pay with heavy consequences.

The law is far too soft on drivers who kill or maim someone while in charge of a motor vehicle.

It can be severely life changing for the victims and their families plus the cost and resources used to clear the mess up afterwards. It seems that for every good driver there are several bad ones.
