HOW long are the residents of Middle Walk and Ella Grove expected to put up with the antisocial behaviour of youths before something is done?

The police are being called out several times a week to disperse youths whose aggressive and wholly unacceptable behaviour has become a daily occurrence on this residential street leading to The Moor.

The youths are shouting abuse at residents, vandalising gardens and signs, throwing rocks at windows and stealing bins etc. along with motorbikes been driven at high speed whilst carrying passengers with no helmets on. It’s only a matter of time before somebody is killed.

Peaks and Plains Housing association, who have a lot of the properties here, have done nothing to help their tenants, passing the buck to the police and council.

All the residents are being told is that a multi-agency approach is trying to tackle the problem.

This multi-agency approach clearly doesn’t work as the problem has only increased since it made the front page of the Guardian a few weeks ago.

We need CCTV on Middle Walk and The Moor and a zero tolerance policy has to be implemented. The residents here want action now with no more excuses.

I feel that with the council election for Over Ward coming up, we need to elect the candidate who actually lives in the ward and cares.
