WITH respect to Nick Marks’ comments in the Guardian, January 25 edition, about banning cyclist from the Moor.

Most Knutsfordian’s love this open space, I use the Moor myself regularly on and off my bike.

Why should cyclists be banned from the Moor?

Not all of them are bad, real cyclists cycle with care where people and dogs and small children are.

People with a bike are not all cyclists, they will be the ones who ride without care, they ride fast and do silly things.

If you want to ban cyclists, ban dog walkers too as not all clean up after their dog has done a poo.

Some do and some hang the poo bag on someone’s hedge on their way home.

With children playing on the Moor and dogs running wild and free they could very easy knock a small child or baby over.

Not just people on cycles are at risk of doing this.

As for the cyclists, to take the long way round into Knutsford instead of using the cut through down Middle Walk and across the Moor, why don’t the motorists stop using rat runs and cut throughs too as they block up all the side roads trying to save just a few minutes.

There are lots of cut throughs in and around Knutsford.

It is pointless using them because they are already blocked and full of cars and van drivers.

To be fair this is ‘tit of tat’ and won’t get anywhere, until car drives realise that our roads are a shared space.
