I AM writing to you in regards to all of the help and support which George Osborne and Jane Robertson, his secretary, did for me during the worst year of my life.

I was unfortunately in a car accident in June 2015 and was told at the time by a Manchester hospital that I had severe whip lash.

The triage simply said take paracetamol and I would feel better in three to four months.

Following an MRI scan in November 2015, as I was in absolute agony and my arm had become clumsy.

I was told I needed urgent surgery to have full disc replacements in my neck. I saw my NHS consultant on December 29, 2015, who desperately wanted to do my pre-op that day but as it was between Christmas and New Year, it couldn’t be done.

I was sent home and told to ring every day and I would get a surgery date.I called every day and was told to call back tomorrow, but tomorrow never came.

By this time I was gravely ill and the pain was unbearable. One of my friends called on my behalf and I was horrified with what she was told - that it would probably be April before I would have an operation date and this was normal for spinal surgery.

This news devastated me as I was struggling to cope.

I have no idea really why I had the inspiration to contact George Osborne my MP but within a few hours, to my surprise, I received a very comforting reply from Mr Osborne’s Jane Robertson.

Within a day I had an email from George’s team telling me to expect a call from the hospital as Mr Osborne had contacted the chief executive of the hospital and had explained my situation.

The following day I received a phone call with a date for surgery and I couldn’t believe my ears.

My surgery took place on February 4, 2016 and was a great success.

I have been left with nerve damage because of the delay and without Mr Osborne’s help it would have possibly been worse.

As the pain has continued, I decided this week to contact George Osborne again to see if he could possibly help to bring an appointment date forward, so I can see my consultant as I am struggling with pain and have returned back to work with special educational needs children.

I emailed on Wednesday, February 1 this year and yet again, I wasn’t let down.

I exchanged details to clarify full understanding and on Thursday, February 2, received an email directly from the hospital to say that my appointment would be on Tuesday, February 7.

I have no idea how I will ever show my gratitude to Mr Osborne and everyone else involved, who have taken time to listen, who have been successfully able to get me the hospital surgery date and my consultant date for next week.

I believe without this support I wouldn’t have gained back the health I currently have.

Thank you George Osborne MP and Jane Robertson.
