THE letter entitled ‘Dog free days’ came from a really sad person who was having a bad day.

I think about 80 per cent of walkers who use the Dog Wood entrance to Tatton have dogs and we really enjoy meeting each other and our furry friends.

I’ve been walking my little spotty friend and her predecessors for many years.

She greets everyone she meets and never poos on the path.

No-one has objected to her and she gives pleasure to many.

Different users of the wood, including cyclists and runners, can cause problems if they are inconsiderate of others, but by and large Dog Wood is a very happy place.

‘Dog free days’ would be impossible to implement and upset large numbers of walkers and their dogs.

Most of us pay our rates to Cheshire East and lots of us are National Trust members.

I would plead for tolerance in the world - nothing is perfect for everyone but surely small differences can be tolerated.
