KNUTSFORD has seen a lot of changes and we all have to move with the times.

So far we have lost a number of health facilities in the area, The Mary Dendy Hospital, Cranford Lodge, Alderley Edge Cottage Hospital, Knutsford Memorial Hospital and Cranage Hospital and let’s not forget Tatton Ward.

Also has anyone tried to get to any of our remaining hospitals using public transport? Forget it.

In an ideal world, with all the reported stress on the NHS, has anyone considered handing back the Red Cross building to the NHS and turning the whole site into a new medical centre and community hospital?

Thus easing bed blocking, providing respite care and generally benefitting the whole community. Surely the amount of valuable and scarce NHS money that has been spent on, or rather wasted on, many feasibility studies and the like, would have gone a long way towards the cost of such an amenity.

Where is our MP? What are his views on the Red Cross site? What does he think of our poor public transport provisions? Considering he wants a Northern Powerhouse, how does he think people in this area are going to access it?
