FROM Paul Nuttall’s letter it appears the new UKIP leader does not know what the role of a MP is or the role of the leader of the opposition is.
An MP is supposed to represent their constituents in parliament.
Therefore, in the case of Tatton the majority of voters voted to remain in the EU so George Osborne should be opposing Brexit in parliament.
The leader of the opposition is supposed to come up with alternatives to the policies put forward by the government. Therefore Jeremy Corbyn is right to try and seek amendments to a bill.
Mr Nuttall’s letter smells of fear.
Maybe a fear that under 50 per cent of voters still support Brexit meaning if it’s not implemented soon without any votes either within or outside parliament it would be undemocratic to implement?
