IN RESPONSE to the letter from Richard Cussons about parking on the double yellow lines outside the Co-op store on Princess Street.
It was very sad about the gentleman who passed away and my heart goes out to his family but I find it hard to believe that the parking of the ambulance only a few feet further away made a difference.
I personally wouldn’t mind waiting for an ambulance personnel while they carried out their selfless work and I find the presence of a legally parked disabled driver an irrelevance.
If the poor gentleman had taken ill further along the street, for example, near the church, would it still have been unacceptable for the ambulance to ‘block the thoroughfare’?
If you would allow me to speculate, I do wonder if Mr Cussons was simply in a hurry to get somewhere?
As a disabled parking permit holder myself, and one who always parks considerately, I resent being characterised as a public nuisance.
I would have thought there was plenty enough truly illegal parking in Knutsford to be worried about.
