ON FRIDAY afternoon I attended a delightful concert by WAKS Lyrical as part of the Knutsford Heritage Open Days.
The acoustics of the venue were fantastic, but the venue itself was neglected and dilapidated and had been closed since 2001.
These are The Assembly Rooms, Knutsford – once part of the Royal George Hotel, and including one of the most impressive rooms in the town.
Knutsford desperately needs a secular hall large enough for concerts, meetings, dances etc.
Can this once beautiful room be brought back to life??
