I READ with interest the letters in the Guardian complementing Mr Osborne on the good things he had done while being MP for Tatton.

Not everybody is of the same opinion. Mr Osborne let people in Mobberley and Knutsford down very badly in the wake of runway two being debated and finally constructed, taking thousands of acres of countryside and leaving people to cope with horrendous noise from aircraft.

A friend and myself met Mr Osborne in Wilmslow to ask what he was going to do to help prevent runway two being constructed; his reply was that there was nothing he could do as it was down to Gummer.

We said that his answer was not good enough, the rest is history.

Most people seem to think Mr Osborne was instrumental in gaining compensation from the airport for the noise we were about to endure – that is not correct.

Most people in the area had to engage a solicitor to fight our case against the airport.

After years of negotiations we eventually won the case.

May I also remind people Mr Osborne is once again instrumental with the construction of the new high speed railway (which we need like a hole in the head).

The railway will take up vast areas of Cheshire farmland and green belt land, putting farmers and their families that have been farming the area for generations out of business, and sadly putting them out of their homes.
