A good MP?

To me, Osborne gives the impression of being political royalty, where he turns up at a few places of his choosing for a photograph and brief chat opposed to really getting stuck in and helping with local projects and campaigns, like many other MPs do.

George Osborne backs the airport expansion plan and HS2 which could actually be bad news for his constituents for different reasons.

Firstly, the airport expansion plan says in view of the plan for HS2 to serve Manchester Airport they feel a western rail link from the airport to Knutsford and Northwich (previously mooted as a possible plan for implementation between 2019 and 2024) isn’t required as they’ll be significant rail links to the airport via HS2.

Secondly, HS2 calling at Manchester Airport will be instead of a London rail service from Wilmslow, not as well as.

With no direct public transport link between the airport and Knutsford does Osborne think everyone in Tatton uses taxis all the time, like he does?

If not, why isn’t he pushing for the western rail link to be built rather than approving of plans which will see it dropped?

Osborne is also saying he backs spending cuts and tax rises if Brexit has a continued adverse effect on the economy.

He’s already used money saved from rising VAT and spending cuts to benefit the wealthy in ways like significantly cutting inheritance tax, reducing the top rate of income tax and reducing taxes for large businesses, while claiming the spending cuts are to cut the deficit when he’s failed in that aim.

He also promised young voters the Conservatives would scrap tuition fees when the Conservatives next got in to government and despite originally entering government as a coalition with a party who did want to scrap tuition fees he, as chancellor, oversaw tuition fees being tripled.

Does this man represent the Tatton constituency as a whole? No.
