HERE we are in the third week of November, clocks have gone back, it’s dark, it’s raining, we are ankle deep in leaves that are blocking the already blocked drains and almost every street corner is flooded.

Why? Because our roads are just parking places for people who will not use the car parks and mothers who carry around their children.

Also people who think they have a divine right to leave wheelie bins out.

This causes a knock-on effect: when the council do decide to unblock drains and clear up fallen leaves they are unable to do so for the said reasons.

As council tax payers, we deserve our fair share of the cake. We have endured a week of Hallowe'en and five nights of fireworks, non-stop screaming and banging, terrified animals barking etc – when’s it all going to end?

Maybe when the tax cuts the chancellor is contemplating to introduce – after all we are supposed to be destitute, yet money can be found for these money burners.

Police cutbacks will mean more and more of these anti social pastimes will go on and on.
