AFTER reading the story about the Old Town Hall being converted into a pub in last week's Guardian I can only say "well done".

I have driven past it a few times and it does look a sorry state at the moment. Something needed to happen and I'm glad that the owners have found someone who wants to take it on.

It is a fabulous building and when the beer festival was held there, it was packed.

Me and my friends go out in Knutsford quite a bit and another pub can only be welcomed.

I've read that all Knutsford is becoming is a place full of bars and restaurants.

But surely residents should be glad that it's thriving in the evening. You only have to take a look at my hometown of Northwich to see what has happened with its night time economy.
