I AM appalled at the number of women I see leaving the toilets without washing their hands.

My husband says it is even worse among men.

In supermarkets in Knutsford, Booths in particular, I have watched women just stroll out after going to the toilet.

I have been tempted to say something but feared I would get a mouthful of abuse in return.

The worry I have is that when they then go and do their shopping, they are handling fresh fruit and vegetables.

Their germs are not only spread over food but everything they touch, including shopping trolleys.

There are so many poorly people out there, adults and children, who are susceptible to infection.

Please spare a thought for others.

It only takes a few minutes to wash your hands thoroughly. Soap and water are always provided.

We drum this message into children. Why don’t adults set an good example?

My mum never touches the handles of toilet doors. She always uses a handkerchief to prevent any contamination.

I’m thinking of doing the same thing.
