IN REPLY to a letter in last week’s Knutsford Guardian I would like to point out that the teachers who are in China for two weeks are carrying out valuable research into the most effective teaching methodologies in mathematics.

This is the latest in a planned strategy taking in best practice locally, regionally, nationally and internationally with the purpose of improving mathematics understanding and attainment across the north west.

I can guarantee that their students have not been deprived as all of their classes have been taught by qualified specialist teachers.

The priority of our school is the students we teach and therefore we would not hinder their learning in any way.

The benefits of looking outside of our own environment cannot be underestimated as we all seek to be the best we can be.
