I WOULD like to thank a group of mostly unknown people who helped to save my life when I had a heart attack while cycling along Northwich Road on July 30.

I am aware of some of the people involved in coming to my assistance, from the nurse who took charge and organised people to do PSR until the air ambulance arrived. Then there were those good folk who protected me while on the road, by using their own vehicles as a buffer to oncoming traffic before I could be moved.

These people, and many others, contributed to my eventual resuscitation and transportation to Wythenshawe Hospital. I am now recovering from a successful heart operation. I am deeply grateful to each and every one of these people. Thank you to all of you. You are stars — I salute you.
