FURTHER to your reader’s letter (“Make careless drivers car-less”, 12 August 2015), I would like add my concerns about drivers in Knutsford parking on double yellow lines and pavements.

There has been correspondence about this before, and the problem is certainly not going away.

I walk or drive along King Street or Princess Street several times a week and frequently see cars parked where they shouldn’t.

Often this happens in the narrower parts of the road, making it very difficult for other drivers to get by safely.

A classic site for pavement parking is outside the One Stop on Mobberley Road, which I walk past most days.

Many drivers seem to have trouble distinguishing the road from the pavement.

I have witnessed small children on bikes or in pushchairs, experiencing near misses as drivers attempt the dangerous manoeuvre of reversing off the pavement back into the traffic on Mobberley Road.

Perhaps some bollards or hatchings painted on the pavement might deter inconsiderate drivers?
