WE were heading back home to the Midlands on the evening of Friday, May 28, and were travelling on the A54 at Holmes Chapel heading for junction 18 after visiting friends in Goostrey.

We were involved in a head-on collision with a driver who was travelling on the same side of the road but in the opposite direction.

A young couple who were walking home witnessed the collision and stopped and took care of us while the emergency services turned up.

Due to the shock I didn’t take down their details. As part of our healing process we would like to get in contact with them to say a big thank you but due to data protection (which I can appreciate) we were unable to obtain their details from the police.

We very much wanted to reiterate how much we appreciate them stopping and for keeping us safe. We can’t help but think how lucky we were to have such a lovely kind-hearted couple who stopped and took care of us, as I do feel these days they a few and far between.

I appreciate this may be a long shot, but it would be lovely if they could get in touch although I appreciate they may not wish to.
