ALL parents of young children looking to start primary school in Knutsford will be aware that there were not enough places in the current schools.

Bexton and Manor Park will take the surplus.

I am perplexed as to why the local council and national parties are not under fire on this issue in the election debate.

In Knutsford it is straightforward planning incompetence on behalf of Cheshire East Council.

I can say this because I have been actively involved in responding to the school expansion plans when the first baby boom resulted in Egerton primary requiring a mobile classroom in 2012.

I had the information and the local knowledge to sense disaster and alerted all the officials to the situation since last summer.

MP, school governors, councillors, council officers — shame on you all.

Apologies accepted by way of honest open engagement on all school planning matters immediately after the election and all the necessary resource applied to do the right thing for this year’s intake.

Do not ask teachers to have mixed-year classes.
