CHESHIRE East claimed big reduction in green waste collection spring 2015, Guardian, April 8, but their figures for spring collections were: 2013 - 1500 tonne; 2014 - 3000 tonne; 2015 -1415 tonne.
The ‘reduction’ seems likely to be caused by householders putting green waste inside black bins and taking green waste direct to tips.
Regardless of council announcements, plants keep on growing each winter as global warming progresses.
If they really wanted to help, they would collect food-based green waste, as done by Trafford and other local councils.
