I WORK for a charity called Revitalise.
We run the Sandpipers respite holiday centre in Southport, which provides much-needed breaks for disabled people and carers from across the region.
Our breaks are a lifeline, enabling our guests to regain their strength and restore their ability to cope.
A quarter of carers have not been able to take any time off for at least a year and a third have never had a break since they started caring.
This of course means that those they care for don’t get a break either.
For people living with the daily demands of giving and receiving care, the strain is relentless.
There are so many ways you can help, from something as simple as making a donation, to taking part in a fundraising event or sparing some time to volunteer at Sandpipers.
Please help. If you would like to support Revitalise, call 0303 303 0147 or visit www.revitalise.org.uk.
