ON JANUARY 22, my friend who is 85 years old and disabled and myself, a member of the Curzon cinema, attended a showing, and a month later received a parking fine.
The car park apparently is owned by Cheshire East Council and leased to Civil Enforcement Ltd. I am unsure how this qualifies for private land, no doubt someone will clarify the situation.
Two and a half hours is not long enough for the showing of films. Surely the management at the Curzon could make it mandatory when booking, online or in person, to ask for the car's registration?
Bearing in mind the change of car parking rules is fairly recent, I do think the high-handed attitude, allowing no adjustment or period of tolerance is unacceptable.
I also feel that to say the car parking enforcement people do not have the facility to recognise a car parked in a disabled slot is unfair.
What happened to Sunday parking? Normally it's Monday to Saturday. And as for contacting Popla, they have one sentence that trot out 'seek further legal advice'
The amount of these fines are deplorable. I can park for a week at Manchester Airport for the same amount, surely this needs adjustment?
