REGARDING The ongoing saga about proposed parking charges at the Community Hospital.
I’ve just had a fairly typical experience. Arrived for a blood sample to be taken 10.46am; left at 11.02am.
New proposals would charge me over £2 for two hours parking for that sort of visit.
Well they won’t of course; to avoid this sort of iniquity, and like many other people, I will act anti-socially and park in a nearby street, thus worsening local congestion.
As many have pointed out, CEC charge 40p in another car-park just down the road. Logic? Forget it.
A further issue: I quite often drop my wife off for a clinic appointment and pick her up later.
If the ANR cameras record my entrance, am I also going to be charged for a 30 second drop-off? Well, my wheels will have stopped turning, so why not?
Sounds like a great system all round – gold star to the inventor.
