KNUTSFORD I regard as my home town, having lived in St John’s Road with my parents and sister.

I attended the schools, church and the cemetery on occasions.

On a visit to the latter recently, I can only describe what I saw as a disgrace.

There was a huge ride-on mowing machine cutting the grass and everything in its wake.

It was being driven over graves at random, and I had to look for three large pots from our grave that had been thrown onto another and damaged so that the driver could mow through and over another grave.

I saw other grave stones damaged by the wheels.

Buried here are many people both young and old that I have known as friends and family, and it was very upsetting to see such a lack of respect.

Surely the deceased of the town deserve better, or is it only the grounds of the council offices, roundabouts or The Square that is important enough to warrant a gardener, as opposed to what I saw?
