WHILE there has been an increase in the number of (mainly responsible) cyclists in Knutsford, there are a considerable number who are failing to follow the basics of The Highway Code, giving cyclists in general a bad name.
Surely, the correct side of the road to be on or the direction that you should be cycling in, on a one-way street is something that cyclists should not need explaining to them.
In Knutsford, there are cyclists who cycle on the right-hand side of the road and cycle the wrong way down one way streets.
The pavement is for pedestrians not cyclists, shouldn’t need explaining (except in the case of young children), or that and a circular road sign with a red border and a bike inside, means NO cycling, it doesn’t mean that it’s a cycling route!
The cyclists who choose to ignore such rules are not only putting themselves in danger but putting others in danger as well.
