ONE of the issues some have with parking around Bexton Primary school is that it is just busy at certain times of the day: 8.30am- 9.15am and 3pm- 3.45pm.

When you have a school with over 400 pupils starting at 8.40am and 8.50am this is simply a given.

Scooters and bikes are an excellent method of transport for children easing the traffic and parking, plus a great form of exercise.

A half mile exclusion zone will only push cars parking further away outside other people’s houses.

Less NIMBY and more NOMH (not outside my house).

Objecting to the busyness is futile; none of us own the road or pavement outside our house.

With any car journey planning is key, allowing extra time and making allowances for potential issues.

Expecting to drive alone Blackhill or Beggarmans Lane quickly and without traffic at these times is like expecting to fly up the M6 from Birmingham at a constant 70mph with no traffic delays on a Friday night, it’s just not going to happen.

Bexton School, parents and residents have worked hard this year to ease traffic flow.

All cars are now parking on the far side on the Blackhill Lane and single yellow lines in Hollingford Place ensuring a smoother route through.

The surrounding roads are apparently too narrow for a zebra crossing or lollipop lady and the three sections of red tarmac, supposed routes to cross the road are ambiguous in their purpose to both pedestrians and drivers; some stop and some don’t, causing many a near miss accident.

Other motorists use this route to avoid driving through central Knutsford so it is not a Bexton parent exclusive problem.

We all must adapt our journey a little, leave earlier or later, make allowances and all give residents, parents, governors, workers, school staff, children and stakeholders a little common courtesy and latitude.

After all we all have to share the same space for various purposes for many years to come.
