Backing same-sex marriage is 'wrong'

OUR MP for Tatton, George Osborne, will presumably vote shortly in favour of gay or, more sensibly, 'same-sex marriage'.

He will be simply wrong if he does so.

It will be a profound mistake should Parliament legislate, to nonsensically extend the primary usage of the term “marriage” to include civil or religious unions between homosexuals.

To help us make sense of the world, we carefully establish different terms to apply to different things.

The sexes are different, and it is simple enough for children to understand.

I have put these matters into verse:

For a he plus a he, or a she plus a she,

Is not the same thing as a she plus a he.

Children can learn to tell rabbits from hares;

They know apples are apples and pears are pears

And that greengrocers sell them as separate wares……
