3:01pm Wednesday 18th August 2010

WHEN I completed a questionnaire requesting what improvements we thought were needed in our town, on my list was the eradication of this invasive plant, Japanese knotweed.

Should men wear shorts?

Did you leave a medal at the Oxfam shop in town?

12:10pm Tuesday 10th August 2010

MY sister and I would like to know the person who left a medal in the Oxfam Shop, in Princess Street, Knutsford. I was amazed when I saw the medal in the glass cabinet, as we have one exactly like it which belonged to our mother. She was in the Women’s Army Corp during the First World War, and was one of six WACs who were chosen to work at St James’s Palace to catalogue the gifts for Queen Mary’s silver wedding anniversary. Queen Mary presented each girl with this medal. The bar has the letters QMNG, a crown MR and white rose. We would be interested to know who the owner of the medal is. Could you contact me on 01565 652083. JOYCE HARPER Knutsford

Wearing shorts is ‘unseemly’

12:00pm Thursday 5th August 2010

FURTHER to my letter two years ago regarding shorts in Knutsford, I have noted with dismay that the hot weather in June produced an alarming increase in this unseemly mode of ‘dress’. When reprimanded most wearers, were abusive. I cannot understand why!
