‘TEMPUS fugit’ or ‘time flies’ people sometimes say.

And certainly that seems to be my experience, as no sooner are we celebrating the birth of Christ at Christmas, than we are preparing for Easter during the season to Lent to remember the death of Christ.

Christmas was amazing at KMC, and on Christmas Day we even had a Christmas jumper competition, with prizes for the best and worst jumpers.

Whilst the prize for the worst was won by Sharon Mayer, our pastoral worker, it is perhaps sad to report that the prize for the best jumper was won by Tiny the dog!

Tiny won everyone’s hearts that day.

Our next Alpha Launch meal is on Monday, March 3 at 7pm, when the speaker will be Billy Ainscough, whose life story includes how he amazingly survived the Hillsborough disaster.

Billy is a very entertaining and humorous speaker, tickets for the meal are £5, or alternatively people can come to hear him speak at 8pm.

The Alpha course then begins the following Monday, for anyone interested in exploring the meaning of life.

Pancake races are part of our ‘Pancake Messy Church’ at 3.45pm on March 4, with special activities for the family.

Parents are encouraged to bring their children along to this fun-packed event.

Highlights include a presentation by schools team ‘Open the Book’ and a free meal together, which of course may involve a few pancakes.

A more serious reflective Ash Wednesday Communion Service then follows on March 5 at 7.30pm, which will include an ashing ceremony.

Time certainly does fly, but we use these events to prepare our hearts and minds for Easter.
